filming the 1978 Gay Freedom Parade for MILK.
I went to see this guy play Harvey Milk. His shirt reads, "I'll Never Go Back." with an illustration of a closet.

These people also showed up to help out.

It was interesting to witness and be a part of.

First they filmed him speaking to the crowd, several times.

Then they filmed the San Francisco Gay Freedom Day Marching Band and Twirling Corps., a few times.

It was crazy fun being up so close.

That is Gus there, with the star on his hat.

After they filmed us walking to City Hall they re-grouped everyone for more filming. After almost five hours in the sun, I decided to head home.

does not look very 70's..I like S. Penn and all but I am not sure he is the right person to play H.Milk...I hope it's a good film...

I took more than a hundred pictures. I only put around forty on my flickr account. I'm going to post a few different times to showcase the pics.

I am the owner of the Volvo used in the picture. It looks like you had better luck getting shots than I did. I even asked the production company if they had ant "offcial" shots that I could have
But no luck.

i was supposed to be there with the band, but i had to work and couldnt get out of it. i cant believe i missed this opportunity

It was fun hangin' with ya in the sunshine. It sure felt like the seventies--but where did all this grey hair come from?

That was such a fun experience. Even if none of us show up in the crowd shots, I hope that I can recognize other people that I got to spend time with (even if I only know them by sight).
